An East Broad Top train working Mount Union in 1950. This town was the northern end of the narrow gauge, a big dual-gauge yard and a coal cleaning plant where Broad Top coal met the Pennsylvania Railroad main line and fired the brick kilns. The EBT quit common-carrier runs in 1956, but she's running excursions again today.

Nothing further from the county histories. The six histories held here end in 1913 and this story belongs to 1956, so there is no passage in them that bears on it. Rather than attach an unrelated page and let it look like corroboration, this story has no source list of its own either, which is said plainly below rather than papered over.
